Nature's Nexus is very proud to announce that this coming October we are launching the first year long class of Nature's Nexus Academy of Perfuming Arts. The academy is founded to provide free education to aspiring perfumers and will be focusing purely on the use of natural materials.
Materials will be available from the academy and it will be possible for students to gather these in parts throughout the year. A syllabus has been carefully planned and laid out by the teacher, Ms. Justine Crane, and an excellent and fully comprehensive primer will be available for students to purchase but will not be mandatory.The course outline for year one is outlined as follows: Unit One – Safety & Terminology Unit Two – Setting Up the Studio/Working the Bench Unit Three – Raw Materials/Perfumer’s Palette Unit Four – Evaluations Unit Five – Trial Studies Unit Six – Creating a Perfume Unit Seven – Advanced Techniques and Materials (scales, ultrasonic devices, etc.) Unit Eight – Regulations Unit Nine – Submitting a Perfume for Instructor Evaluation The class will be run on Moodle, the same powerful educational software used by online colleges, such as Royal College of Surgeons and Dublin City University. It will be seamlessly bridged with Nature's Nexus and will have it's own personal technical wizard standing by at all times. There will be Discussion/Chat, Collaboration/Group Work including forum, glossaries, wiki and workshops , Question/Answer including choice, hot potato, lessons, questionnaire, and quiz, Web-based Activities - Webquests/Treasure Hunts including weblinks and webpages, Content Delivery/Storage including file upload and text pages for assignments and workbooks and much more. This is all provided free of charge to committed students. The NNAPA crest is very special and speaks volumes about our ethics and our philosophy.
