These days more than ever people want to do their best for the environment and take care of their health. At the same time there seems to be more choice when it comes to natural personal care products. We can choose from organic and even almost 100% natural products. But what about the packaging. How many plastic bottles and containers do we throw away every week? Did you know that only 5% of the plastic that we throw away gets recycled, and that the recycling makes more problems than it solves, 80% ends up in the land fill and 7% gets incinerated. There has up until now no real alternative to buying natural personal care products packaged in plastic. White Witch® brand has a range of 100% natural products and they are packaged in biodegradable packaging. At first glance these products certainly do look different from conventional products. It would be safe to say that they are revolutionary. There are herbal hair rinses, natural beauty masks, bath products, shower products, lotions, in fact everything you need from head to toe. Take a really close look because you will see that nothing is packaged in plastic or glass. In fact everything is biodegradable, no waste. it's even better than that actually because you will see that the used products can be thrown straight into the garden to feed the soil- refreshingly different. Do you love your dog? I mean really really love your dog? Enough that you want to buy him a treat that's yummy, (ask my boxer) and good for his health, teeth and gums?
Well there is an amazing eleven year old boy who makes and sells the most incredible organic healthy pet treats you can buy. They are called Cole's Pet Treats. They contain Organic whole wheat flour, rice flour, organic rolled oats, brewer's yeast, wheat germ, eggs, canola oil, water, carrots, beef, tomato paste, green split peas, garlic powder, honey, onion powder and dried parsley. I know for a fact our boxer, Lucas would eat just about anything, including the sofa, the leg of the table and a crust of dried bread. But there is a something that happens automatically when our boy is in close proximity to something really delicious. The first thing that happens is he sits very prettily. Then his eyes sadden and sort of glaze over. Then the drool starts to drip from his jowls making cute little pools on the floor. : ) This is exactly what happened when I took Cole's Pet Treats out of the box. Lucas could obviously smell that there was something nice in store. I gave him one after he obediently gave me the paw (NILF-nothing in life is free treatment). After he ate the treat he started acting very strangely. In fact I can only describe his behavior as "taking begging to a new level". First he gave me the paw, even though I hadn't asked, then he gave me the other paw, then he lay down and rolled over, all with out being asked. Then he did one of his stretches and made talking sounds. Then the drooling became ridiculous and he actually started to blow bubbles. I just had laugh and gave him another. Look, the bottom line is, this boy Cole Lambert knows what doggies love, maybe he was a dog in his last life or something, but whatever, he sure has a recipe here that makes a doggie treat a doggie double treat because it's healthy and roll over delicious. You can buy the doggie treats here: Cole's Pet Treats |

I've been meaning to spread the word about this for months. Now that I have run out of my "happy pits" and I am about to buy a new one, or three, I feel I have to let you in on the secret.
I've been hearing it for the longest time, people are searching for an effective natural deodorant. Sure there are a few on the market, but most come in plastic bottles and are just plain boring. Well now there is Happy Pits Deodorant. It looks like a bar of soap, sort of. Except there is a nice texture that tells you it's not soap. To use you just remove from the wrapper. The lovely biodegradable wrapper, that sports the nicest, cutest and most memorable logo I have seen in yonks. Hold the bar under the cold tap for a few seconds to moisten and then rub it under your arm pits. No sting, no stink and no chemical nasties. Just pure honest-to-old-fashioned-goodness. Contains: Happy Pits is the brainchild of Andrine Olsen. Andrine sells her wares through a friend who operates an Etsy shop. Click here to visit the Etsy shop to buy Happy Pits Deodorant and you can read more about the product as well. Bear in mind it might be sold out by the time you get there, because this stuff sells fast. Email the trader and put your name on the list...below mine ...BYE! |

I am enchanted by a little Etsy shop I came across today. Run by Nature's Nexus member Justine Crane, owner of Le Parfumeur Rebelle, the top natural and botanical perfumery resource on the internet today. Le Parfumeur Rebelle is Justines labour of love and it is only as recently as the 18th of July she has opened her new online shop on Etsy. I couldn't resist buying her Boronia Eau de Cologne Spritz

Anything to do with the ancients fascinates me.
While browsing our members websites this morning I came across some wonderful ungents on MandrakeApothecary. Even just the word 'ungent' conjures up visions of ancient civilisations and Egyptian kings and queens. On the Oils and Ungents page of Mandrake Apothecary there are 6 floral ungents listed; Jasmine, Neroli, Cacao, Lavender, Roses, and Patchouli. The descriptions are wonderful especially this one: 'Roses Perfume - This is a flirty and bright compounding of several rose absolutes (from the damascena and centifolia species), a few drops of rose otto, a sublime geranium bourbon, a whisper of ylang ylang, and a dab of organic bergamot essential oil. It is decidedly rosy, but never overly-sweet, and it has a bright tartness and lightness to it that the synthetic roses always fall short of. A bright pink sunshine of an unguent.'
